OWA The Lost Episode 7-15-1997

Traci Lane defends the OWA Championship against Ricky Hype; the vacant OWA TV Championship is decided in a four corners elimination match: Virgo vs. Taleis vs. Rachel Ryan vs. Asian Invasion

*The final official episode of the OWA. Two other federations spawned from this: WCWA and UCP. They will fall under OWA. I’ve taken the time to complete this card because it was unfinished.

The OWA Logo flashes on the screen and then flips out of sight to reveal a crowd. The camera pans over to the broadcast area. ]

Ed: Welcome to OWA Championship Wrestling. I’m Ed Bagel and joining me this week is none other than the “Voice” Biff Franklin.

Biff: Let’s get on with the show already.

Ed: Tonight, we are going to crown a new OWA TV Champion. It’s a four corner match featuring Virgo, Taleis, Rachel Ryan and Asian Invasion. Also on tap, an OWA Tag title defense and Traci Lane defends the OWA Championship against Ricky Hype.

Biff: Joy.

Ed: Let’s go to ringside for our first encounter.

PYL Qualifier: Blackout vs. Anthony Hazard

Announcer: This match is one fall and is for a Press Your Luck qualifying position. First. Coming down the aisle, weighing 223 pounds. This is Blackout and his opponent.

Ed: What? There’s Hazard.

Biff: Hazard’s coming out early and nails Blackout with a dropkick which sends him into the side of the ring and down to the floor. Up quick, Hazard drops a huge elbow onto Blackouts head.

Ed: Blackout slowly gets to his feet just in time to be met by Hazard with a running forearm smash.

Biff: They should be calling this match already.

Ed: You may be right Biff, but Hazard’s got Blackout up, rams his head into the ringpost, rolls him under the ropes, then slides in himself.

Biff: Hazard’s taken the advantage and run with it. Reverse Powerslam! Can this one be over? Hold on!

Ed: Freddy Fever has just come down to ringside and is pounding the mat. Is he cheering on Blackout?

Biff: Hazard with a cover. one. two. thre. Blackout kicks out! Anthony Hazard is glaring at Fever. He pulls up Blackout and delivers another Reverse Powerslam. cover. Freddy over and pounds the mat right in front of his face.

Ed: One. two. thre. Another kickout by Blackout. There is no way that Blackout would have kickout out of that if Freddy Fever wasn’t at ringside. Hazard points to Fever, complaining to the referee.

Biff: What’s he doing at ringside anyways? There. OWA officials are taking him from ringside. Get him outta there!

Ed: Blackout up, looking around, he nails Hazard from behind. Jumping DDT by Blackout. cover. one. Kickout by Hazard.

Biff: Blackout with a kick to the head. No. Hazard ducks and nails him with a clothesline. Russian legsweep by Hazard. cover. one. two. three!!

Ed: Hazard stealing this one from Blackout with an initial cheap shot. Fever is in the ring and he checks on Blackout. I am not aware they have any sort of relationship, but I know Fever has been very vocal about his disdain for Hazard.

Biff: And Hazard knows it as well. He nails Fever from behind and hoists him up and delivers a Reverse Powerslam to the King of Disco.

Ed: Hazard may have to pay for that attack in the near future.

Announcer: Winner of the match, advancing to the tournament is Anthony Hazard.

Press Your Luck Report

Myers: Welcome to your Press Your Luck report. They’re dubbing it, Seven Deadly Sins. Press Your Luck will be held in Fresno California at the Selland Arena on June 29th.

The main event will be for the OWA Championship. Current champion Traci Lane will defend her title against the number one contender, The Disco Kid Freddy Fever.

Another match signed for Press Your Luck is being called The Seven Deadly Sins match. It’ll pit former-Femme Monica Brant against The Wild Child Wendy Ryker in a seven stipulations, best of seven falls match. Here’s how it’ll work. Monica Brant and Wendy Ryker will alternately pick six stipulation for the match and the OWA Commissioner will pick the seventh. That’s one stipulation for each fall. The first fall could be Coal Miner’s Glove match, a Hair vs. Hair match, a steel cage match. It makes no difference. The first person to win four falls will be declared the winner.

An North American Title match has been signed. Champion Consuelo Salyards will be taking on Executioner in a best 2 of three falls. Home Court Advantage rules. More on that next week.

Also just signed for Press Your Luck. The battle of the Enforcers. “The Enforcer” Adam Sanchez battles “The Enforcer” Rachel Ryan.

This match was just signed for Press Your Luck. Two newcomers will battle it out. Godiva Rage will take on Rob Foster.

Also signed this week: Mariko will take on Billy Smith. The winner to get a shot at the OWA Championship on OWA Championship Wrestling on July 6th.

Now, the thrust of Press Your Luck is the Press Your Luck tournament. Here is how this tournament works:

16 names are put into a barrel. The barrel is rolled, and then two names are taken from the barrel and put into a second barrel. Those names will not be revealed. The names in the second barrel are for those advancing to the second round. Then, two more names are drawn and announced. Those two will wrestle. The loser is out of the tournament. The winner will then flip a coin. If the coin lands on heads, then the wrestler is advanced to round two, and two more names are drawn. If the coin is tails, then an another name is drawn as an opponent for the winning party and they’ll have to wrestle a second first round match. There is no limit on how many times you can wrestle in a single round. If a person is unlucky enough, they could wrestle 15 matches in the first round. Of course, if they were to do that, they’d win the tournament. Once all wrestlers names have been drawn, then we advance to round two.

Again, two names will be drawn and set aside, advancing to the next round. And we continue as we did in round one. When all names are drawn, we continue the process, without setting aside names in each round after the second. When there is only one person left in the tournament, then they will be declared the winner.

The winner of the tournament automatically goes to the main event in our August PPV to face the OWA Champion.

Asian Invasion, Taleis, Big Russ Gator, Crimson Scorpion, Davey Scott, Wolfgang Von Richter, Pretty Boy Monty, Danny Bouchard, Anthony Hazard and Diamond Brett Robbins have already advanced.

That’s all for the Press Your Luck report this week. I’ll be back next week with more info on the card.

Ed: Let’s go on up to ringside for our next match.

Freddy Fever & Traci Lane

Scene takes place at Freddy’s Discorama as the current OWA Champion walks in and glances around before taking a seat at the bar. Traci Lane acknowledges the bartender as he slowly makes his way over.]

Bartender: Never expected to see a member of the Femmes, much less the OWA Champion grace this dive with her presence.

Traci laughs: Oh, you’d be surprised some of the places that I go.

The bartender grins: What‘ll it be?

Traci considers for a moment: Champa… no, you know? What the hell. Give me a shot of vodka. Make it two.

The bartender walks over and grabs a bottle from the shelf and moves off-screen just as another figure walks into the picture and takes a seat next to the champ.]

Freddy: Well, I never expected to see you here. Come to give me forewarning about our upcoming contest?

Traci shakes her head: No. I just wanted a drink and this place was conveniently located.

Freddy: Well that sounds like a load of horse crap.

Traci laughs as the bartender walks over with two shot glasses of clear liquid and sets them down in from of her. Freddy motions for two more.]

Traci: Well, perhaps I just wanted to have a nice little chat.

Freddy looks at her curiously: About?

Traci shrugs: I was watching your match with Amazon Woman again the other day, preparing for our match. I watched the original broadcast, but watching it a second time, I’m not going to lie, I’m a little concerned.

Freddy: You’re concerned about me? Well, you should be. I’ve been a little low key lately, but I’m feeling the best I’ve felt in a very long time. I’m ready to be champ again… third time.

Traci chuckles: Well, I’m not going to just hand over the title. I’m very aware of how tough you are and I’m definitely going to have to step up my game. But that’s not the only reason I’m here.

Freddy: Hm?

Traci: I know you were going to warn me about Monica. I just wanted to say thank you. How did you know?

Freddy laughs: When you’ve had the fight of your life with someone, you know when someone is an imposter. I’ve wrestled both Amazon Woman and Monica Brant. She tried, but when I was in the ring with her, I knew.

Traci glances down as her untouched shots: Well, she was a big part of the Femmes, I should have known.

Freddy shrugs: Maybe. But don’t feel too badly because you never fought her. You never feuded with her like I did. If it weren’t for Michelle Cox, I would have given you a heads up.

Traci: Well, enough of that. You and I will have one hell of a match and may the best person win.

Traci lifts a shot and holds it towards Fever, who picks up one of his own and they clink shot glasses.]

Fever: Oh, don’t worry. The best person will win.

They take their shots and then grimace before grabbing the second shot and they take those as well.]

Freddy: You should come by more often. Thursdays are Karaoke night. Bring the rest of the gang.

Fever: Thanks, man. Happy to be here. I just want to scout the champ and keep an eye on Hazard.

Biff sighs.]

Fever: Problem Biff? You and I have never had any issues before.

Biff: I’m not sure I like this side of you, Freddy. You used to be the man. Take no prisoners. Win at all costs! Now, you’re buddy buddy with the champ and sticking up for the underdog. You were at ringside helping out Blackout.

Fever: Just doing what I feel is right. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, brother.

Ed: The bell rings here and this match is underway. Lock up and Hype with a quick takedown and he hops up and shows off for the crowd. I’m not sure that’s how you want to go into this match with someone like Traci Lane.

Freddy: Oh, you definitely want to give her your undivided attention.

This match goes on through a couple of commercial breaks. Coming back from the second commercial break, Hype has Lane in a figure four.]

Ed: That looks painful, but Lane is reaching for that rope.

As she reaches for the rope, Anthony Hazard pulls the rope back away from her reach.]

Freddy: That’s some bull[bleep].

Biff: Where you going?

Freddy gets up and drops his headphones and makes his way to ringside and walks up to Hazard who sees him and releases the rope, allowing Lane to grab it and the referee makes Hype break the hold.]

Ed: Fever and Hazard having words out there and I’m sure they aren’t exchanging recipes.

Biff: Hazard holding up his arms like he didn’t do anything and Fever seems to be satisfied that he’s done his duty and turns to walk away and Hazard nails him from behind and runs him headfirst into the ringpost!

Ed: Hold up, Lane with a rollup, but the referee is distracted with Hazard and Fever. Fever hit that post hard and. yes, he’s busted open.

Biff: Lane off the ropes and she trips?!

Ed: Hazard tripped her! She falls into Hype and he lifts her up for a Hyper Driver! Hype with a cover! One. two. three! We have a new champion!

Fever is up and with blood running down his face, he motions to the referee and points to Hazard and explains that Hazard tripped Lane!]

Biff: Fever needs to mind his own damn business!

Ed: Speaking of that, here comes the Commish!

Yahmal: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Freddy Fever is telling the truth. Referee, this match needs to be restarted and I want Anthony Hazard and Freddy Fever to leave ringside.

Ed: The referee is restarting this match and Hype is all over Lane who is still reeling from that Hyper Driver. Hazard is pissed! He attacks Fever, and Fever is fighting back and they are brawling towards the back. Hype is going to the top rope and Lane is down on the mat!

Biff: Hype flies and that loser missed an elbowdrop! Lane grabs that arm and executes an arm bar! She’s pulling back hard on that arm and Hype is screaming! Haha! I love it! She could break his damn arm for all I care!

Ed: He’s tapping! Hype is tapping! Lane retains the title!

Announcer: Winner of the match and still OWA Champion, Traci Lane!

Biff: Holy Crap! Monica Brant has hit the ring and she’s attacking Traci Lane!
